Hello every body..

I wonder if there is role for P.T. for abdominal hernia?

well sure we do play a role in cases of umbilical hernia...to begin with if its a mild case where conservative mgt /palliative t/t has been suggested...u may advise for an abdominal corset n begin with static abdominals or head raisings. later with SLR, bilatSLR, curl-ups,reverse curl ups etc. role of a Physio is to strenghten the abdominals n equalise the abdominal -back extensor strength.

in surgical corrections, we may go for the corset followed by a more cautious ex routine ,which then has to be tailor-made for the patient.
i hope u find this useful. let me know if u found a better alternative.
