Has anyone made the transition from physical therapy assistant to physical therapist, or from physical therapy aide to physical therapist? I'd like to talk to someone about the process, the result, etc. Please respond in this forum.

Thank you.

After recieving my Bachelor's in Biology, I took a year off and became a Physical therapy aide. It gave me all the hours that I needed to apply for PT as well as some valuable experience. Now I recently graduated and am practicing in NJ. I think transitioning that way helped a lot. I tgave me some valuable patient examples to use when studying.

I am starting a PTA program and wanted to find out who PTA's are treated vs. PT's. I've heard from some they are not treated well, and don't get any respect. Is this true?
