I am currently a PT at a Hospital and was wondering if anyone else had a similar protocol for treating total joint patients within an acute setting. At this time, most of us therapists are seeing our TKR and THR patients on Post-OP day #2 which includes mobility training, ther ex program (involving ankle pumps, isometrics and simple ROM exercises). However, we are looking to create a model to being therapy POD #1. Just wanted to see if anyone else was seeing patients this early and what the protocol was, and if there were any complications/difficulties anyone has encountered with seeing patients this early.
thanks! ag |
