Traditional Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, is a safe and effective way to deal with depression. Acupuncture, herbal formulas, and other Chinese medical modalities have been used in China for over 5000 years, but have only recently become mainstream in the United States in the last twenty-five years. The people who come to my clinic looking for help with their depression, are typically those who have already tried everything else. Often they have tried seven or eight different anti-depressant prescriptions, with disappointing results. Either the drugs didn?t work, or the side effects were too unpleasant, or they didn?t want to take anti-depression drugs for the rest of their lives. Almost every one of my patients feels that acupuncture has definitely improved their quality of life. A number of scientific studies also supply a great deal of evidence on how and why acupuncture can help depression.
A clinical study has shown that patients who received acupuncture treatments experienced significant reduction in depression symptoms. After treatment, more than half no longer met the criteria for clinical depression. Statistically, that makes acupuncture just as effective as antidepressants. Studies also show that acupuncture can change the levels of many neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, that profoundly affect mental states. |

It's helped me a lot with my acne problem. I have tried almost everything and the only thing I've got is my skin being dry and spend a lot of money. I have got acne when I was an adult so it was even worse. I've had acupuncture sessions and this worked. My skin looks and feel so much nicer now. I recommend that to all the people with acne problems. The sessions are expensive but it is well worth. -------------------- |

I had been taking Prilosec for Acid Reflux, Zelnorm for IBS and gastropathy, and was told by my gastroenterologist that I had the "slowest digestion he had ever seen" and would need to be on those medications "for a very long time (meaning years)" in order to ever be regular.
After the first acupuncture treatment I went off all the medicines the first week and began the diet plan given to me. Six treatments later, I have never once had reflux or heartburn and seem to be digesting fine, better than I have in my entire life. The diet is tough but stick with it. My nails are healthy and look like they did back in high school. My weight is stabilized and I have better energy. acupuncture is really effective... -------------------- |

It is essential that healthcare providers carefully monitor patients’ responses to opioid therapy and recognize that several conditions other than OIH – including worsening disease, opioid tolerance, withdrawal, pseudoaddiction, or addiction – can lessen opioid-analgesic effectiveness. In some cases, higher opioid dosing is needed; however, if OIH occurs, other strategies should be employed to provide pain relief

Depression is a mood disorder characterized by both physical and psychological symptoms that can be detrimental to one's normal daily functioning. Depressed individuals often suffer from poor sleeping habits, crying spells, anxiety, worry, poor memory, inability to concentrate, body aches, stomach disturbances and a lack of interest in activities previously enjoyed. In extreme cases, individuals become helpless and hopeless about their lives and suicide is often considered.

Hi Greey,
Acupuncture treatment is certainly natural and without any side-effects. However, it’s quite refreshing to know that even statistically it is as effective as any anti-depressants. Hopefully acupuncture will help in treating more patients in future. http://www.recoveryconnection.org/ |

There is also an alternative called Omnilux Light Therapy. This type of light therapy uses light to target and destroy the bacteria that cause acne. Each Omnilux treatment is easy: patients simply sit under a comfortable light for 20 minutes. But it depends what alternative treatment suits to a patient. |
